The Godfather is an American Crime Film. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The movie was an adaption of the 1969 novel of the same name by Italian American author Mario Puzo. The movie follows the story of a fictional American crime mafia Corleone family. Vito Corleone was the head of the family and becomes a major figure in the American organized crime world. After Vito Corleone’s death, his youngest son Michael Corleone becomes his successor. Later in part 2 and part 3 of the series we experienced the life of Godfather Michael Corleone.

The Godfather ( March 15, 1972)

The Story begins with Drug lord Virgil Sollozzo, who offers godfather Vito Corleone for doing narcotics business but Vito refuses it. As a result, Sollozzo made attempt to kill Vito. His oldest son Sonny later takes over the family business and with his younger brother, Michael made an attempt to kill Sollozzo and the corrupt police captain. Which forced Michael to go into hiding in Sicily. Michael later returns after hearing the death news of his brother. Vito later sanctioned the power to Michael and he becomes the new Godfather.

The Godfather Part II ( December 20, 1974)

Part 2 of the series is both a prequel and sequel of the story of the Corleone family. We see Michael becoming the new Don of the family and as well as flashbacks and moments of the life of Vito Corleone. Michael becomes a major figure in American Society who faces trials because of being accused of several crimes. The Godfather Part III ( December 25, 1999) Again directed by Francis Ford Coppola, returned for the third installment of the movie. In the third part of the series, we see Michael Corleone trying to legalize his criminal empire and show the rise of Vincent Corleone who was the illegitimate son of Sonny Corleone as the new Godfather. Real-life events such as the killing of John Paul I and the Papal Banking Scandal of 1981 and 1982 were also portrayed as fictional accounts and adding them with the affairs of Michael Corleone.
